Surface mobility in amorphous selenium and comparison with organic molecular glasses

چکیده

Surface diffusion is important for a broad range of chemical and physical processes that take place at the surfaces amorphous solids, including surface crystallization. In this work, temporal evolution nanoholes monitored with atomic force microscopy to quantify dynamics selenium. molecular glasses, coefficient has been shown scale crystal growth rate (us) according power relation us ≈ Ds0.87. study, we observe same law applies crystallization selenium, representative inorganic polymer glass. Our study shows can be used quantitatively predict rates in chemically diverse materials.
